Richard Hammond’s Workshop enters its second series in 2022, Richard set out to create a show which demonstrates all the difficulties of running and earning money through a classic car restoration business. Funded by his own money, Richard sold some cars from his collection in order to start-up a new workshop and take on the Greenhouse family into his venture. The show is very open about just how much every aspect of the business costs, which is one of the reasons that fans have taken to the show so well, and everyone also loves seeing Richard (one of the legendary three from Top Gear & The Grand Tour) back on screen!

The series is produced by Discovery Plus, Chimp Television and Krempelwood and is aired on Discovery Plus, for any car enthusiast, we highly recommend a watch.

During Series 2, Richard Hammond and his team at ‘The Smallest Cog’ decide that they want to integrate Motorsport into their classic car restoration business, as they believe it will be a good way to boost their business interest and also market themselves at the same time. The series aims to show off just how difficult it is to get into the classic motorsport realm and compete successfully and consistently, whilst keeping budgets to a minimum. The team decide to turn the last car Hammond ever drove on Top Gear, the MGB GT into a fully fledged racer.

Richard’s ‘The Smallest Cog’ team sought the help of the team here at Ric Wood Motorsport to help build the engine and later help run the car at its first racing event. The journey proved to be a difficult one as both the team and the drivers got used to the car.
